"I had brothers," Peeta says, and it's strange how those memories have seemed to fade. He's never really felt close to his family other than his father and now that he's been to the Capitol twice, he doesn't really feel a connection with District 12 anymore. Not the way Katniss does.
"My family didn't think I would survive, you know. My mother thought I was weak. Guess I proved her wrong, ending up here?"
